The Garden That Reborn: Beauty restored alongside faith
Located next to the Sanctuary of Guadalupe, this small plaza has historically been a space appreciated for its beauty. Its fate has been linked to the commercial pulse of the city, and today it is experiencing a promising transformation.
A Lost and Recovered Splendor In the past, this small square was famous for the meticulous care of its gardens and its elegant central fountain. Unfortunately, for decades its space was invaded and occupied by market stalls, obscuring its architectural and civic beauty.
✨ Attention, Civic News! Fortunately, Pátzcuaro is in the process of recovering its original spaces. Along with the relocation and construction of the new market, this important public space has been rescued, and the restoration work is underway. The aim is to restore it to its original splendor as a garden of rest, in harmony with the Sanctuary it accompanies.
A Point of Contrast The small plaza serves as the unofficial atrium of the Sanctuary. Once the works are completed, the beauty of the fountain and the restored gardens will offer a point of contrast and tranquility against the neoclassical architecture of the 19th-century temple.
