Much of Pátzcuaro can be understood simply by spending time in its public spaces.

Plazas and smaller squares are places of passage, meeting, trade, celebration, and rest. Some help you find your way through the city; others simply invite you to sit for a while and watch what happens around you.

This section brings together plazas, small squares, and other open spaces that form part of the journey. You do not always need to arrive looking for a monument. Sometimes it is enough to find a place from which to watch the city unfold.
