La Zarcita Park

🌳🏀 Springs, sport and a curiosity of faith.

Affectionately known by locals as “La Zarcita”, this park is the little brother of Laguna de Zacapu. It is a space where water springs from the ground: its characteristic ponds and canals are formed by the natural damming of crystalline springs. By sharing the same water source as the large lagoon, it is also possible to observe native aquatic species here in a controlled and safe environment.

Local Meeting Point 🏃‍♂️

More than a tourist site, it is the sporting heart of the city. Its shaded trails are the favorite place for Zacapu runners to train in the mornings. In addition, its facilities are designed for family energy:

  • Sports Areas: It has basketball and volleyball courts that usually have a great atmosphere on weekends.

  • Recreation: Large green areas with children's games, ideal for children to run free while adults enjoy the coolness of the water.

The Tree Sanctuary 🙏

The park has a story that attracted national attention a few years ago: the supposed appearance of the silhouette of the Virgin of Guadalupe in the bark of one of its trees. Today, this tree remains a small place of popular devotion, where visitors often leave flowers and candles, making it a must-see stop for the curious and devotees.

Ecotourism Project 🌱

The park is in a phase of constant evolution, with architectural and ecological projects that seek not only recreation, but also environmental education, raising visitor awareness about the vital importance of the Zacapu springs for the region.

🌟 Our Recommendation

Authentic local experience.

  • Cool Mornings: The best time to visit is early in the morning. The mist over the ponds and the activity of local athletes will give you an authentic vision of life in Zacapu.

  • The Tree of the Virgin: Ask any local about the tree. Even if you are not religious, it is interesting to see the offerings and the respect with which this corner of the park is treated.

  • Light Picnic: It is an excellent place to bring a snack and sit on the benches to read or simply listen to the water flow.
