Uruapan's best-kept secret 🌿💧
If the National Park is the jewel in the crown, La Camelina Linear Park is the hidden treasure that locals share only with close friends. It's an intimate, free, and spectacular trail that runs parallel to the Cupatitzio River, offering a unique perspective of its waters.
A Walk of Stone and Water 🚶♂️
This linear park is a path of approximately half a kilometer designed for slow walking.
The Landscape: Its walkways and stone bridges blend seamlessly with the riverside vegetation, allowing you to feel the coolness of the river and hear its flow up close.
The Little Foam: Don't miss the place known as "The Little Foam". Aquí, la fuerza del agua y las rocas crean un efecto visual donde el río se torna de un color azul intenso y turbulento, ideal para la fotografía.
Natural Architecture: The route is dotted with small squares, fountains and waterfalls that invite you to sit down and disconnect from the noise of the city.
Location and Access 📍
It's a small urban paradise. It's located south of the main entrance to Barranca del Cupatitzio National Park.
How to get there: Locate the Chapel of Saint James (in the neighborhood of the same name). A stone staircase will give you access to this green refuge.
Closeness: It's a very short distance from the center and next to the National Park, so you can visit both in the same morning.
Costo: El acceso es totalmente gratuito.
🌟 Our Recommendation
The perfect complement.
Many tourists visit the National Park and leave. The experienced traveler does this:
- Route: Visit the National Park first (at an additional cost).
- The Dessert: Upon leaving, walk towards La Camelina Park (free) to "walk off your meal" or simply to enjoy a quieter and less crowded moment by the river.
- Photo: The stone bridges of La Camelina offer a more rustic and romantic angle for your photos than the main walkways of the large park.
