It's considered the <b>largest building of the Jesuit order in all of Mexico<\/b>. Upon entering, its enormous square courtyard, surrounded by seven arches on each side, will make you feel small; it's the perfect setting for that panoramic photo you've been looking for. \ud83d\udcf8<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-path-to-node=\"5\">\ud83d\udd2d <b>Cradle of Brilliant Minds<\/b> Built in the mid-17th century in the Baroque style, this place was born as the <b>Jesuit College of Saint Francis Xavier<\/b>. It was no ordinary school; in its time it boasted astronomical observatories, laboratories, and an enviable library.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-path-to-node=\"6\">History matters here:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-path-to-node=\"7\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"7,0,0\"><b>The Master:<\/b> Debe su nombre actual al ilustre <b>Francisco Xavier Clavijero<\/b>, historian and philosopher who taught in these classrooms.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"7,1,0\"><b>The Student:<\/b> Does it sound familiar? <b>Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla<\/b>, the Father of the Nation walked these halls as a young student, absorbing the ideas that would later change Mexico.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-path-to-node=\"8\">\ud83d\udd04 <b>From Correctional Facility to Art Center<\/b> Like many buildings in Morelia, this palace had a thousand uses after the expulsion of the Jesuits in 1767. It was from <b>correctional facility for priests<\/b> (Yes, you read that right!) It even served as the seat of the Michoac\u00e1n Congress in 1824 and as Civil Registry offices in the 1970s.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-path-to-node=\"9\">However, in <b>February 2008<\/b>, recovered its dignity and educational vocation by being reborn as the <b>Clavijero Cultural Center (CCC)<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-path-to-node=\"10\">\ud83d\uddbc\ufe0f <b>The Epicenter of Art in Michoac\u00e1n<\/b> Today, this is a dynamic, world-class space. Its galleries have housed works by giants such as <b>Diego Rivera, Francisco Toledo, Javier Mar\u00edn y Feliciano B\u00e9jar<\/b>.
