This event brings the community together with a fervor that overflows into the streets, blending religious solemnity with an explosion of color and tradition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-path-to-node=\"6\"><b>\ud83d\udcc5 When is it celebrated?<\/b> The big party takes place from <b>January 6-12<\/b>. It is a direct continuation of the Three Kings Day celebrations, but focused on the venerated image of Christ.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-path-to-node=\"7\" class=\"translation-block\"><b>The Identity Parade: Traditional Clothing<\/b> An essential and moving element of this celebration is the presence of Pur\u00e9pecha women wearing their <b>Formal Dress<\/b>. During the processions and masses, the streets become a river of vibrant colors thanks to their attire:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-path-to-node=\"8\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8,0,0\" class=\"translation-block\"><b>The Huanengo:<\/b> Observe the mastery of the embroidered blouses (huanengos) in cross stitch, full of flowers and bright fretwork.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8,1,0\" class=\"translation-block\"><b>The Roll and the Apron:<\/b> They proudly wear the <i>roll<\/i> (the heavy pleated wool skirt) held up with woven sashes, and richly decorated lace or satin aprons.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"8,2,0\" class=\"translation-block\"><b>The Rebozo:<\/b> The finishing touch is the rebozo, often made of silk or fine cotton, which completes the image of elegance and respect for the patron saint's festival. It is the time of year when the feminine identity of the town shines in its full splendor.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-path-to-node=\"9\" class=\"translation-block\"><b>The Heart of the Festival<\/b> The local church (the historic Temple of the Assumption) becomes the epicenter. Here, the image of the Lord of Mercy is venerated, a highly miraculous Christ figure to whom pilgrims from all over the riverbank come.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-path-to-node=\"10\">\n<li>\n<p data-path-to-node=\"10,0,0\" class=\"translation-block\"><b>Processions:<\/b> Families, dressed in their finest clothes, accompany the religious images, creating an atmosphere of deep devotion.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-path-to-node=\"11\" class=\"translation-block\"><b>Dance and Joy<\/b> The <b>Dance of the Old Men<\/b>, the soul of the festival, is a must.
