And the name lives on: in its surroundings of pines, oaks and cedars \ud83c\udf32, coyotes, armadillos and weasels still live, guarding the ruins.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-path-to-node=\"5\"><b>Why is it a unique place?<\/b><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-path-to-node=\"6\">Unlike other settlements on the lake, Ihuatzio stands out for features you won't see anywhere else:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-path-to-node=\"7\">\ud83e\uddf1 <b>The Huatziri (Raised Roads):<\/b> Its architecture is unique. Here you will walk alongside the <i>Huatziri<\/i>: Impressive causeway walls with stepped sections. These elevated paths not only defined spaces but also served as ceremonial pathways through which one traveled within the city.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-path-to-node=\"8\">\ud83d\uddff <b>Monumental Sculpture:<\/b> It is the only one of the three imperial capitals where large-format sculpture has been found. The excavations (begun in 1908) revealed treasures carved from basalt rock. <b>four Chac Mools<\/b> and three coyote-shaped sculptures, a testament to their artistic and ritual grandeur.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-path-to-node=\"9\">\ud83d\udd0d <b>A Sleeping Giant<\/b> What we see today is only a fraction of its splendor. At its peak, the city covered 150 hectares.
